Well worth waiting for the tide to turn. Great food, drink and a fine choice of local ales. Staff are friendly & welcoming. Real value for money portions too. Enjoyed the Fresh Local Crab sandwich . Came back the next day to try their great steak burger.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was delicious — every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care. Our waitress was incredibly personable and kind. The restaurant itself had an awesome historic vibe that gave the whole evening a unique and cozy atmosphere. Plus, it’s located in a very convenient area, making it easy to find and perfect for exploring nearby afterward. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a memorable setting!

Good food, very tasty desert (toffee apple bread and butter pudding with cream was amazing!) the wait staff is super friendly and efficient. Donna sorted out an issue with my reservation & was quick to find a good resolution.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Parking is convenient, beds very comfy as is the bedding, cozy rooms, and it’s clean. Service was wonderful— the a gentleman who greeted us was extremely attentive and the whole place has the best cozy ship vibes. Also I cannot get over the proper English fry-up breakfast we had. Everything was spot on, location was great and I am so glad we stayed here while visiting Holy Island and Lindisfarne!! PS— the other two women we saw who worked there were also wonderful, welcoming, and accommodating!!

We’ve eaten lunch here twice and never been disappointed. It is very busy during the tourist season but the food is well worth the wait. Best fish and chips!

I was there with a group of six. A wonderful place to stay, drink and eat. There are some odd reviews below that the owner was grumpy or miserable, which aren't true at all and we can assume those who have commented on such things have rigid standards of social norms that they think apply everywhere. Yes the owner doesn't smile. But he was pleasant, courteous, and checked in on us to make sure we were ok. He welcomed us warmly when we arrived in the cold, made sure we got to our rooms ok and made sure we were looked after. For lunch I had a lovely warm bowl of homemade tomato soup and a nice cheese and ham sandwich, it was very homely. For dinner I had fish and chips, a classic, and it was nicely beer battered. In the morning I had an English breakfast and again was well prepared. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The owner also directed us on what we could see on the island during the winter season. Again, a lovely place with lovely staff. Would recommend.
